Versioning
Elmony snapshots your project every time the AI edits code, so you can always roll back to a known-good state.
How to restore a version
- At the top of the chat panel, click the Version # badge (it reflects the current version).
- The versions drawer opens. Click any entry to preview that snapshot; the preview pane will reload to show that state.
- When you find the version you want, click Restore. Elmony reverts the code to that point without losing subsequent history.
Restoring always adds a new version rather than deleting anything, so it’s safe to undo mistakes repeatedly.
How it works under the hood
Each version maps to a Git commit stored inside your project. When the AI edits files, Elmony generates a commit with an AI-written message describing the change.
Restoring creates a new commit (similar to a multi-commit git revert) that
rolls back to the selected version while preserving history. This makes Elmony play nicely
with other tools like VS Code or your own Git workflows.
