Getting Started

Quickstart

Install Elmony, choose how the AI should run, and turn a design or prompt into your first working project.

Install Elmony

Download the latest Elmony desktop installer and launch it. Packaged releases include a managed Node.js 24.19.0 and pnpm 10.20.0 runtime, so you do not need to install Node.js, npm, Corepack, or pnpm separately.

Elmony validates that managed runtime when it starts. Your projects still need internet access when their dependencies must be downloaded from a package registry.

If Windows SmartScreen appears, confirm that you downloaded Elmony from the official source before choosing More info and then Run anyway.

Continue with Google, Facebook, or GitHub. Elmony checks the subscription and registered device after sign-in. If the account is already at its device limit, remove or replace an old device before continuing. See Account and devices .

Finish AI setup

The setup banner on the Elmony home screen shows whether AI access is ready. You can use either a supported subscription agent already installed on your computer or a model provider API key.

Use a subscription agent

Open Settings → Subscription Agents and select Claude Code, Codex, or Gemini CLI. Follow the sign-in or installation prompt if that agent is not ready yet.

Use an API provider

Open Settings → Model Providers, choose a provider, and save its API key. Availability, pricing, and rate limits depend on the provider and model, so check the provider dashboard for your current quota.

Start with a design

  1. On Start a new project, choose Mobile App or Website, then select Open editor.
  2. Name the project and create the screens, sections, and flow in the design editor.
  3. Continue to Step 2, confirm the project setup choices, and build the working app from the design.

Prefer to start directly in code? Choose Skip design and Open chat, then describe what you want Builder to create.

Let Elmony build and run it

Elmony assembles the project locally and starts its development server. Auto-approve is enabled by default, so code changes are approved and run while the agent works. Follow the activity, inspect the resulting files or diff, and test the live preview.

To approve changes manually, turn off Settings → Workflow → Auto-approve before starting the run. See the Chatting guide for prompting tips and the Previewing guide for the preview, Console, device modes, and visual context tools.

Runtime troubleshooting

If a packaged build reports that its managed Node.js or pnpm runtime is missing or has the wrong version, reinstall Elmony. System Node.js is only used by development or unpackaged builds. The Node.js troubleshooting guide covers both cases.
